Certified Medical Assistant - South Cleveland FT Days (69024)

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician and/or nurse practitioner.   Assists professional staff in the provision of care by preparing patients to be seen by the physician and/or nurse practitioner, and perform specific procedures with appropriate orientation and supervision. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and records information on patients’ charts.  May be required to collect blood samples, tissue or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing.  Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians instructions to patients.  Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to the practice.  Follows standard procedures and/or written instructions to perform the job duties.  Demonstrates teamwork to ensure achievement of team, individual, and corporate goals.  Provides support to team members and performs other duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School graduate, or equivalent

Experience:  Graduate from an accredited or governed Medical Assistant program or must have passed Medical Assistant Certification.
