General Construction Laborer

A General Construction Laborer for Rueters' Equipment is responsible for a variety of labor duties within our divisions. Basic functions include: cleaning and preparing construction sites; loading and unloading materials and equipment; operating and maintaining machinery and equipment; assemble/disassemble concrete forms, footings, and wall forms; pour concrete at job sites; jobsite preparation for soil erosion control and prevention; general landscaping; following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans; assisting skilled tradesmen in their duties; daily jobsite clean-up; ensure safe work environment; interact professionally with customers, trade partners, and suppliers/vendors; perform other duties as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Operating a variety of equipment: tractors, scraper, dozer, etc.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on machines
• Pouring concrete, grading driveways, moving dirt, and other general real estate development work
• Assisting Rueter farms during harvest season either in the field or hauling crop
• Working along side temporary workers

Requirements:

• Ability to show up to work on time
• Ability to adapt to a variety of different labor assignments
• Willingness to learn new skills and have a positive attitude
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions
• Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks with hands and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
• CDL Preferred 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a field environment, including exposure to varied weather and uneven surface conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with team. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This job requires the employee to lift at least 50 pounds routinely.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, with some evenings and weekends as necessary.  Hours are subject to change depending on jobsite location and weather conditions.
