The starting base salary range for a Dental Data Analyst is $52,000 to $77,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Dental Data Analyst Overview

This position supports the actuarial team by providing expertise in data and analytics for Dental products across all lines of business. It plays a key role in several areas of responsibility including reporting, analysis, validation, and transformations on both new and existing healthcare data.

Essential Duties:

• Conducts data analysis for Dental products across all lines of business including Group, Individual, Medicare and Medicaid
• Develops technical specifications for analyses of healthcare data
• Performs ad hoc analyses of healthcare data using SQL Server, Excel, and other tools
• Identifies data issues and works with the data governance team to recommend solutions
• Performs validation across large datasets
• Support documentation of technical processes, including creating, updating, and maintaining data dictionaries
• Supports the development of state and federal rate filings and manual rates for all markets
• Ongoing monitoring and reporting of product trends including building new reporting dashboards
• Supports provider profiling and network analytics
• Develops reporting and monitors key underwriting /financial metrics
• Supports other data reporting and ad hoc analytics as needed
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Intermediate proficiency using SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to address a wide range of audiences
• Responsive to feedback and is adaptable to new situations and requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• 2+ years of related experience
• Experience working with data warehouses
