At Zaden Technologies, we're automating a smarter future through specialized DevSecOps solutions with a strong focus on defense and space systems. As our Principal DevSecOps Engineer Team Lead, you will be instrumental in leading our technical teams in the design, implementation, and management of secure cloud infrastructures supporting mission-critical applications across government and defense environments. This leadership role combines technical expertise with team management to deliver transformative solutions that modernize software and enhance security postures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive system, web, and database administration to maintain operational cloud-based systems
• Lead and mentor junior engineers while promoting DevSecOps best practices, providing technical guidance, and helping team members develop their skills in cloud infrastructure and security
• Architect resilient, scalable systems that meet mission requirements, including participating in technical design reviews, establishing infrastructure standards, and driving continuous improvement in operational processes 
• Configure, monitor, and maintain multi-environment CI/CD pipelines in AWS GovCloud
• Implement and monitor Docker/Kubernetes container orchestration
• Support application deployments through automated release pipelines
• Maintain Authorization & Assessment documentation, vulnerability scanning, and security compliance activities
• Manage security patching, updates, and mitigations for cloud infrastructure and applications
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for environment provisioning
• Perform access control and user management
• Configure and maintain monitoring tools for system performance, security, and compliance
• Support incident response and troubleshooting of production issues
• Coordinate with development teams to improve DevSecOps practices and deployment automation
• Develop and maintain relevant system documentation and training materials

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
• 5+ years experience supporting planning, design, and implementation of commercial cloud infrastructures in a DoD setting
• 7+ years experience performing cloud-based system maintenance, troubleshooting, and security operations
• 5+ years experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure providers
• Demonstrated experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Meet DoDI 8140.03 IT Privileged User qualification and compliance requirements
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins
• Strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code, and automated testing
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, RMF, STIG)
• Experience supporting system accreditation and continuous monitoring
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience in technical environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Active security clearance
• Experience with automating cloud deployments
• Certifications in relevant cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and security frameworks
• Experience with DoD cloud deployments
• Knowledge of microservices architectures
• Experience delivering cross-domain data migration solutions (Unclassified to Classified environment data migration)
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Git
