The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Systems Architect to join the Next Generation Product Support team located in Hazelwood, MO, Oklahoma City, OK or Plano, TX which develops a diverse suite of digital and data analytics capabilities and supports investments in defense platform capabilities for product support across a wide portfolio of US and non-US customers.
This position will lead the software architecture, design, and future technology roadmap for a diverse suite of data analytics and cloud-based product support tools. This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to partner, execute, communicate skillfully, and lead through influence and collaboration across the company.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience developing in a cloud-native framework for a microservices web-based architecture and be capable of leading the architecture and roadmaps for the entire product suite by translating business requirements into a concrete solutions architecture for the technical team to implement.
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversees the design, development, analyses, and maintenance of software systems and architecture to ensure customer requirements and quality, safety, and security standards are met.
- Partners with program and software management stakeholders to inform system definition and oversees translation of business requirements into software system solutions that meet customer, operational and performance requirements.
- Researches and oversees implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development.
- Identifies risk, issues, and opportunities as they pertain to the software architecture.
- Oversees software project management and software supplier management activities.
- Oversees reviews of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by consulting on tracking and evaluation of internal team and supplier performance.
- Analyzes emerging work scope to include Requests for Information or Request for Proposal and supports the development of a technology roadmap, vision, development estimate, and schedule aligned to the overall business objective.
This position requires the ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance Post-Start for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- 13+ years of software engineering development experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in the aerospace domain
- 3+ years’ experience with web microservices architecture
- Experience with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 15+ years software development experience
- Experience with modern software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps)
- Extensive technical knowledge in common client and server side frameworks (Spring Boot/Spring Framework, .NET Core, Django, Express)
- Experience developing software in the aircraft product services and product support domain to include Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul support and Performance Based Logistics
- Demonstrated experience with Zero Trust Architecture
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated history translating high level business strategic objectives into detailed product roadmaps
