About the role

Your Role 
 
As a Gensler Interior Designer, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have conceptual and technical delivery/documentation design skills for interior architecture and interior design projects, and you have a portfolio showcasing your innovative designs. A focus for the role will be designing Education and Government projects.  

 

You are an integral member of the design team who itches to contribute a point of view and craves participation in all phases of our projects from conceptual thought process and design exploration through construction administration. With you as part of our team, interiors have never been so engaging.  
 

What You Will Do 

 

  • Visioning and programming for interior design projects, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, shop drawing reviews, code compliance, and construction administration 

  • Participate in the selection and documentation of furniture, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and decorative lighting  

  • Generate finish plans, RCPs, lighting plans, specifications, material selections, and millwork drawings and details  

  • Provide design support and documentation during project execution  

  • Coordinate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators 

  • Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.) 

  • Support design presentations and develop effective client relationships as trusted advisor 

  • Support marketing and business development efforts as needed 

  • Guide and mentor teammates 

  • QA/QC specifications and construction document sets  

  • Strive to elevate design quality on every project, and foster and cultivate a culture of design in the office 

 
Your Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture 

  • Approximately 10-15 years of interior design experience with varying project types with an emphasis on experience with Education and Government projects 

  • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software programs 

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) 

  • Advanced know
