The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Principal Electronics Safety and Compliance Specialist for Solventum, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Tracking safety and regulatory compliance status of divisional products and ensures that Solventum meet their safety and regulatory compliance requirements prior to production and through product shipment release.
- Provide guidance to development teams on material selection to design for safety
- Evaluates and interprets U.S. and International product safety and regulatory standards to ensure divisional products meet all standards required for the markets they are sold into. Utilize knowledge or experience with some of the following areas in electrical product safety and EMC
- Monitoring regulations and standards changes for EEE products and join ISO/IEC working groups to influence and comment on the future directions of EEE standards.
- Maintaining a strong operational knowledge of industry technologies, products, customers, and customers’ needs.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Electrical Engineering or Electronics degree from an accredited university AND 5 years of job-related experience in conduct/design of electrical product safety studies, IEC safety standards, and/or electrical product risk assessment
OR
- High School Diploma/GED from AND 9 years of job-related experience in conduct/design of electrical product safety studies, IEC safety standards, and/or electrical product risk assessment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences or Electronics degree (completed and verified prior to start).
- Experience with electrical medical devices and electrical purification and filtration systems
- Experience with USAC, EMEA, Japan, China, India, AU/NZ, and SE Asia regulations on electronics and electrical medical devices
- Experience with evaluation of EEE products according to US and international regulatory standards, such as IEC 60601, WEEE, Right to Repair (R2R), RoHS, waste compliance, etc.
- Experience interacting with the US FDA, EU notified bodies, or other governmental regulatory agencies
- Experience/ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment with good analytical, interpersonal, and professional judgment skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills and strong organizational abilities
