Position Purpose:
At Saint Mary's Hospital, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse RN provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicine, vitamins, or fluids.
What you will do:
You will insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines.
Administration and monitoring of medications, blood products, and fluids while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments.
Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure is required.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience with PICC lines, Midlines, Port access/de-access, and placement of Peripheral sites is required.
BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
