Job Description
The oncology landscape demands faster, smarter, and more patient-centered approaches to evidence generation. US Medical Affairs Oncology (USMAO) is advancing digital innovation—including AI-driven insight mining, real-world evidence platforms, and automated literature scanning—to turn complex data into actionable strategies. This internship will play a key role in exploring and applying digital technologies to strengthen USMAO’s ability to generate meaningful evidence, support decision-making, and demonstrate Medical Affairs impact.
As a USMAO Digital Innovation in Evidence Generation Intern, you will explore new technologies, assess industry best practices, and help prototype solutions that enhance how evidence is synthesized, reported, and communicated. Your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of oncology evidence generation.
How You Will Contribute
Evidence Integration – Analyze structured and unstructured data (e.g., MSL insights, advisory boards, social media) to uncover unified themes.
Innovation Scouting – Benchmark emerging digital technologies and approaches within and outside the pharmaceutical industry.
Prototype Development – Build proof-of-concept tools (dashboards, analytic overlays, predictive models, automated summaries).
Automated Literature Intelligence – Pilot automated scanning tools and develop summarized reporting frameworks for rapid awareness of new research.
Impact Definition – Propose metrics to measure evidence generation effectiveness (e.g., speed of insight-to-action, influence on decision-making).
Strategic Enablement – Translate findings into recommendations that inform the oncology evidence generation roadmap.

Job Requirements
This position will be hybrid role out of the Cambridge, MA location.
Currently pursuing a graduate degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, MBA, Data Science, or related field).
Strong interest in digital health, analytics, or innovation in medical affairs.
Analytical mindset with ability to evaluate large datasets and synthesize findings.
Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI), natural language process (NLP), or machine learning concepts (academic or project experience preferred).
Excellent communication skills for translating complex outputs into actionable recommendations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data visualization or analytic tools is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
