Physical Therapist, Therapy Center Point 1
Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women’s Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. It serves an eight-county region in the Lakeway Area and is equipped with modern technologies and expert staff to provide the best possible patient care. Position Summary:
Under general supervision, plans, evaluates and implements treatment programs for physical therapy patients. Modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient progress.

Responsibilities
- Performs patient evaluations (initial, progress, and discharge evaluations), makes recommendations, and sets goals in accordance with patient needs. Performs screenings as applicable to determine the need for additional evaluation and treatment.
- Plans and administers treatment programs, including education and specialized treatments.
- Involves patient and family in treatment, education and goal setting.
- Prepares, maintains and updates patient documentation in accordance with professional, departmental and Health System guidelines.
- Coordinates with other medical and allied health personnel regarding patient’s progress, needs and discharge planning.
- Gives 5 hours education/mentorship time per year. This includes :
- Peer counseling
- Students
- Community lectures/volunteer
- Orientation of new staff
- In-services
- Assists with on-the-job training, orientation and supervision of support staff.
- Assumes responsibility for the educational development of assigned students.
- Provides on-site and offsite consultations to physicians, schools and other agencies/professionals as requested or required.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year experience preferred
Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain Tennessee Physical Therapy licensure. CPR required. At least one year outpatient PT experience, current PT license in the state of TN, and BLS certification preferred.
