Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies (VAX) Process R&D is responsible for the development and clinical manufacturing of Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product Intermediates (DPI) for the vaccine and advanced therapy pipeline, spanning from preclinical to commercialization stages. We are part of the Process R&D organization, which enables modality-agnostic DS/DPI process development and clinical manufacturing for all of our company's pipeline. Applications are sought for an entry level opportunity in VAX Process R&D organization, specifically in the Bioprocess Clinical Manufacturing and Technology (BCMT) department.

The individual will serve on teams supporting GMP manufacture of clinical material in a pilot plant setting.  Assignments include but are not limited to: (1) serving on the Process Team to execute GMP manufacture; (2) serving on the Infrastructure Team to support instrument and facility qualification; (3) serving on the Training and Critical Documents Team to maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) and training curricula for the organization; (4) serving on the Automation Team to provide ongoing automation system and IT support to the GMP facility.

In all cases, the Individual is expected to function in a multi-disciplinary environment and to contribute subject matter expertise to various functional teams engaged in development and clinical manufacture of the vaccine candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to communicate results of his/her work in both verbal and written formats. In addition to the core responsibilities outlined above, the candidate will be expected to keep careful notes, comply with all required training, and maintain a focused attention on laboratory/facility safety for themselves and the team.

This position requires the employee to be willing to work with infectious agents and/or pathogens. Travel may be required to support technology transfer. This position will require occasional off hour and weekend work.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Candidates must have a BS in engineering, biological sciences, or computer engineering completed by Spring/Summer 2025 (prior to starting in the role)

• BS in Computer Science Applicable for BCMT Automation Role

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Candidates should have:

• Direct experience with bioprocess development (cell culture, bioreactors, separations/purification).
