As such, this role requires interest and expertise in the operational components of our business model.▪ Develop and champion the product vision and lead the Product team in executing that vision, creating a suite of products and services that delight our owners, tenants, and vendors while ensuring our internal teams have effective and efficient internal workflow and tools.▪ Responsible for developing and maintaining a disciplined, repeatable process for conceptualization, development, launch, and ongoing, successful management of Poplar’s products.▪ Partner closely with the executive team, the CTO, and key stakeholders throughout the company to create, refine, and prioritize the product roadmap. The Chief Product Officer provides strategic oversight for pivotal, cross-functional initiatives, coordinating across Product, Development, Operations, and Marketing to bring clear prioritization and rapid, high-quality product delivery.▪ Lead a high-performance team, identifying and validating new opportunities and coordinating the implementation of product and process improvements to deliver winning customer experiences.
Seven Essential Functions▪ Product Vision & Product Strategy: Define and implement a product vision for each product line and channel; establish current and long-range product objectives, develop ROI analyses, plans, and policies; own product roadmaps; establish a comprehensive product lifecycle process from strategic planning to tactical activities; collaborate with CEO and executive peers in the corporate strategy process and ensure alignment across all product strategy plans and product development opportunities.▪ Product Planning: Get firsthand customer information and leverage it to meet customer needs; find the right balance between customer needs and company needs; understand the markets the company serves, the competitive landscape, and our products’ differentiation; take a customer orientation and establish, promote, and nurture good customer relations (both internally and externally).▪ Product Development: Partner closely with the CTO and the Development team; agree upon and deliver against an appropriately aggressive schedule to ensure a high degree of throughput; develop and support a culture of innovation where teams constantly explore and test new ideas; creatively and continually enhance products by balancing insights from feedback loops, analytics, research, and market trends with technical feasibility and cost to build and maintain.▪ Product Marketing: Partner with the Marketing team to create the content and tools needed to successfully implement and launch new products and updates, with an emphasis on effective go-to-market strategies that ensure adoption, usage, and delight.▪ Business Management: Take a disciplined and analytical approach to measuring product success by defining, tracking, and communicating business metrics; in partnership with Finance, develop and adhere to team and program-level budgets; make portfolio-level decisions regarding culling, maintaining, or growing product lines.▪ Team Management: Lead a team of talented product management professionals; recruit, nurture, and lead a team of product managers who balance the understood needs of our users with what will be most impactful for Poplar; in partnership with HR, develop and communicate career pathing options such that Poplar becomes an employer of choice within Product Management.
