About the Role:
In this role, you’ll leverage your knowledge of health insurance to resolve high priority issues. You’ll collaborate with a variety of teams, including Product, Compliance, Sales, and Operations.
Strong problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail will allow you to address issues, accurately resolve, and prevent the issue from arising again. You’ll use your understanding of customer needs and strong communication skills to resolve escalations which directly benefit our customers. Your ownership mentality means that you notice opportunities for improvement without external prompting, and you are prepared to handle diverse tasks and responsibilities, proactively adjusting as priorities shift.
About the Team:
Carrier Operations is a team of experts who leverage our industry knowledge and strategic partnerships to build the industry-leading SGHI brokerage. Carriers view us as collaborative and forward-thinking, and Gusties rely on our insights to provide a seamless customer experience.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Project manage and execute quarterly and annual rate/plan refreshes
- Build quoting schemes
- Maintain existing metadata fields and surface issues
- Perform commission audits
- Enable new products, perform testing to support product updates, and recommend product updates based on carrier/customer need
- Leverage EPD and BizTech partnerships to surface carrier and Gustie needs
- Review weekly/monthly carrier reports, analyzing and noting trends, and execute research and analysis to resolve escalations
- Develop training materials and documentation for teammates and conduct training sessions on new metadata and product processes
Here’s what we're looking for:
- A minimum of two years of experience working in the health insurance industry
- In-depth understanding of underwriting rules, and knowledge of the carrier landscape
- Approaches partners with data-backed opinions and recommendations on metadata structure and changes
- Works collaboratively with and tailors communications toward a variety of teams, including operations, sales, and product
- Comfortable navigating changes in the business environment and proactively adjusting strategies accordingly
- Leverages analytical skills to recommend product updates based on carrier and customer needs
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues, resolve, and prevent the issue from arising again
- Proficient with data reporting tools (Redash, Tableau, Salesforce reporting, Excel)
- Understands customer needs and advocates for improvements which directly benefit customers
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $78,000 to $92,000 in Denver, Las Vegas, and Orlando. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
