Join Amazon’s newest mobile app, Amp, where anyone can host live radio shows with the music they love. Currently in beta in the US, Amp’s evolving how people discover and share music. Create a show, call-in, or bop along to some tunes – no subscription, additional hardware, or editing needed.
As part of an agile team, you will be working in a startup atmosphere while being able to leverage the resources of a Fortune-500 company. Amp is on the bleeding-edge of consumer-facing products, where every team member is a critical voice in the decision-making process. We build systems that will be distributed around the world, spanning mobile apps and voice-forward experiences on Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa. Amp products support our mission of delivering audio entertainment in new and exciting ways that creators and listeners will love.

Key job responsibilities
We are seeking a design oriented Mobile Frontend Engineer to join our agile Design Engineering team. You’ll work closely with a cross functional team of UX designers, motion designers, and other engineers to collaborate on feature designs, create prototypes of varying fidelities, implement dynamic app animations, and build the component library for our Design System. Your peers will look to you to communicate technical feasibility and alternative solutions when roadblocks are discovered. Your prototyping work will help extend our Design System and drive high quality UX across our app experience. Within this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of our React Native component library leveraged by the rest of our Amp engineering feature teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of building with mobile applications using either iPhone, ReactNative, Android, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift SDK's and other frameworks
