The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Reporting Systems (Interim), is responsible for management reporting consolidation and financial systems administration. This position requires a technical expert with advanced data management skills to lead day-to-day operations with a small team of supporting analysts. Consolidation responsibilities include data loading, P&L aggregation, and expense allocations of actual financial results and financial planning submissions. Complete, accurate, and timely delivery is imperative for comprehensive management reporting and informed decision-making. Financial systems administration responsibilities include master data creation and maintenance, monthly roll processes, account authorization management, and servicing end users.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the global monthly close, monthly forecasting, and annual budget processes, ensuring data integrity within the company’s financial systems.
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data and reports for internal and external reporting requirements.
- Manage the reconciliation process and ensure reconciliations are performed timely, and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Monitor and maintain controls to safeguard and ensure data integrity and compliance with the company’s reporting policies.
- Coordinate processes to efficiently manage the monthly close, forecast, and annual budget processes, including developing, implementing, and managing policies and procedures.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data, investigating variances to support financial reporting accuracy; responsible for validating, troubleshooting, and resolving financial data discrepancies and inaccuracies.
- Serve as a business side administrator of SAP systems, maintaining financial planning and reporting systems.
- Ensure effective management and maintenance of finance department-related master data and data structures within SAP systems; provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
- Execute ad-hoc analytics to support critical projects and business initiatives.
- Responsible for extracting data and producing vital financial reports that are accurate, efficient, and easy to update; must be able to merge data from various data sources and reporting systems.
- Continuously improve tools and reports to help management better understand and plan our business.
- Identify opportunities to improve the overall financial close process further; implement best practices and solutions for the business.
- Responsible for high-level projects such as managing changes in reporting system within the corporate accounting and finance groups.
- Propose innovative solutions to keep the systems efficient and functioning with the highest integrity.
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Experience working in financial planning and management reporting systems.
- Deep understanding of financial close and consolidation processes
- Proficient in data analysis, financial planning, and reporting tools
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle
- In-depth understanding of financial statements and financial data analysis
- Solid knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively summarize and present financial data and recommendations.
- Technical expertise with the ability to assess system capabilities, identify drawbacks and suggest improvements.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical report specifications
