Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a highly responsible position that coordinates the facilities operation under the direction of the FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING MANAGER This position performs duties and responsibilities of overseeing building maintenance for two (2) sites for the Florida Department of Health in Hernando County (FDOH - Hernando), overseeing and providing the maintenance, repairs, and security and assists with the policies and procedures governing same. Responsible for monitoring, tracking and accountability of inventory for all equipment, cars, etc. surplus of equipment. Requires independent judgment and decision making.
Serves in coordination with the Facilities Services Specialist as a liaison with the Hernando County facilities and vendors that provide services at both facilities. Coordinates with County maintenance crews and contractors/vendors for all necessary installations, repairs, emergency repairs, and maintenance for both facilities. In coordination with the Facilities Services Specialist, performs maintenance and security of the Spring Hill and Brooksville facilities during and after hours. Services in on-call/subject to call status for building security for after hours and weekends, responds to calls for both offices. Ensures building maintenance, small repairs, security and inventory are in working order, and also in compliance with mandates, needs and the policies and procedures governing each area. Provides authorized staff with required access to facilities and maintains security for same. Assists in keeping outside premises neat, clean, and orderly. Assists with property tracking and inventory. Assists with maintenance of pool vehicles. Assists with transport of medications, client records, reports, supplies, equipment, etc. as requested and needed to various departments and agencies.
Work in collaboration with the DOH-Hernando Preparedness Planner and under direction from the Health Officer for compliance with DOH-Hernando’s public health preparedness program. Ensures the maintenance of county-level plans that meet regional and state requirements. Coordinates planning efforts of county community partners including hospitals, emergency management, EMS, private health care and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. Ensures the maintenance of all planning documents related to emergency operations (all hazards) for DOH - Hernando. Identifies shortfalls and gaps in equipment, personnel, and response capabilities. Ensures that county-level Health Everbridge activities are developed, implemented, and exercised as related to planning, preparedness, and response. Coordinates Health and Medical response activities per the county comprehensive emergency management plan (CEMP). Assists the Preparedness Planner with coordination of ESF8 communities liaison among the private medical community, public health entities, governmental and non-governmental agencies. Supports Hernando’s Health and Medical Consortium including, but not limited to, providing meeting assistance, identifying speakers. Works collaboratively with Hernando County Emergency Management. Provides community and partner trainings on preparedness related topics as requested. Maintains active communication with other agencies and attends meetings as needed and appropriate. Participates in training programs, educational conferences and keeps informed and up to date on preparedness issues. Participates in and provides information for quality improvement, evaluation and agency accreditation as needed.
Attend all meetings, manage functional group actions and projects, and provide suggestions and feedback to management as well as new hire onboarding/orientation. The safety coordinator controls and maintains all employee accident and injury records. Reports that contain confidential information are maintained in a locked file cabinet.
