This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.

This individual will be a member of the Funds Finance product team within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) of Global Corporate and Investment Banking. The Funds Finance team originates and executes subscription-secured facilities and other ancillary credit products offered to MUFG’s alternative asset manager clients.

Responsibilities:

Underwriting & Portfolio Management:

  • Primary responsibility for underwriting, structuring and completing all approval requests
  • Initiate and ensure completion of all required loan documents and agreements
  • Conduct ongoing credit monitoring to ensure the highest credit quality of assigned portfolio
  • Recognize / communicate potential credit quality issues within the Bank
  • Work as part of a team to deliver both credit products and non-credit services to clients and prospects
  • Call regularly on existing clients to obtain information that supports borrowers risk profile and obtains information necessary for effective credit monitoring
  • Work as the underwriting officer on syndicated credits where bank is the agent
  • Work closely with internal coverage and product teams to develop account plans and cross-sell opportunities across different product areas (i.e. FX, rates, transaction banking, capital markets, and other GCIB products)

Risk Management:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and is sensitive to the current regulatory environment
  • Adhere to the bank's Risk Vision, and risk management policies and programs
  • Recognize and proactively address risk (including but not limited to those associated with Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, consumer compliance, fair lending, fiduciary responsibilities, and privacy)
  • Identify and appropriately manage risks. Ensure top quality data input in all bank systems

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years financial services work experience
  • Preferably 3+ years of funds finance, subscription lending or related experience including credit underwriting,  structuring and portfolio management
  • Experience in structuring, negotiating and executing NAV, Hybrid and FX transactions preferred
  • Requires a BA, BS or equivalent work experience. MBA/CFA is a plus
  • Experience working with syndicated or multi-bank credit facilities
  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • High level of understanding of Private Equity and Finance
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, negotiate and manage credit transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships
  • Proficiency in relevant software including Microsoft Office
  • Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Bilingual English-Japanese language skills is desirable (not required)

The typical base pay range for this role is between $180K to $210K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
