Customer Service Dispatcher

EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

• Place Concrete Ready-Mix orders over the phone
• Communicate with Sales regarding customer project updates, product additions, and or project extensions
• Assist and educate customers regarding products and delivery availability
• Basic understanding of concrete mix designs and industry standards
• Follow-up and assist customers continuously from order placement to concrete delivery completion
• Work closely with Dispatchers throughout the day to inform customers of the status of their concrete orders. 
• Assist customers with changes to orders before and during order delivery
• Process credit card purchases for COD deliveries daily
• Assist in sorting, scanning, and storage of Concrete Ready-Mix Tickets
• Assist in any other departmental needs as deemed necessary by supervisor
• Maximize resources by scheduling truck assets efficiently and effectively
• Confirm appropriate routes to job sites
• Ensure plants are aware of order requests or changes such as:
• Special additives (fiber, color, DCI, etc.)
• Special material
• Notify Foreman of volume changes for accurate inventory management of gravel, cement, additives, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Pay Rate: $24-26 per hour

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The primary areas of responsibility include:

• Customer Relations
• Order Management

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to maintain proper attendance while working irregular hours and frequent overtime, includes Saturday shifts
• Extensive knowledge of the service area, preferably in the Transportation and Construction Industry.
• Strong mathematical, computer and telephone skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a deadline oriented working environment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Must be fluent in English and Spanish

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• At least one-year customer service experience in the concrete industry and/or ready-mix industry
