We are looking for a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our BASF/Nunhems vegetable seeds team. 

 

This position is located in the greater metropolitan areas of Boise, ID or Sacramento, CA. Domestic relocation available, if applicable. Remote US (Western US, preferred) option could be available.

As a Environmental Health & Safety Manager you will ensure compliance with regulations and requirements for Responsible Care (EHS), overseeing EHS teams, and driving a culture of safety at the sites. You will also develop and maintain a Responsible Care management system, manage EHS resources, and implement EHS programs across the sites to achieve BASF's goals.

  • Ensuring that all necessary measures for current and future “License to Operate” are implemented and adhered to.
  • Protecting the health, safety security and environment of our employees, contractors, distributers, visitors, customers and neighbors.
  • Being responsible for Responsible Care and that all activities are done in line with state, local, regulatory and BASF requirements.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a site-specific Responsible Car management system
  • Creating common sense/awareness related to Responsible Care.
  • Ensuring resources for implementing Responsible Care are identified and available on site.
  • Being accountable to identify and implement EHS site specific targets and for site Emergency response preparedness.

If you have...

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Degree in technical discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.) is preferred.
  • ​​​​​​​Minimum 7 years of business including at least 3 years of leadership work experience is required. 
  • Experience directly managing people or project teams, including skills in leadership, coaching, entrepreneurial drive, results orientation, strategic thinking, influencing, persuasiveness, and negotiating. 
  • Expertise in how EHS is executed in operations and how programs impact overall performance.
  • ​​​​​​​Ability to travel up to 25% domestically (could be higher depending on location), and additional international travel
