Job Summary
As a Data Manager, reporting to the VP Finance and IT, you will pioneer within Terumo EMEA to be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing our organization's data management and ensuring that data is leveraged as a valuable asset. Your role will involve driving data governance, quality, strategy, and analytics to support our company's objectives and innovation.
Our ambition is to leverage data to drive innovation and business success, enabling an insight-driven organization. You will work across various departments, including business, IT, operations, and compliance, to integrate data practices and policies seamlessly. Additionally, you will collaborate with executive leadership to align data strategies with business goals, focusing on the commercial space for master data and transaction data.
In addition to your Data Manager responsibilities, you will also serve as the Information Security Lead. In this dual role, you will liaise with the ICT ops organization and Legal to create sustainable structures for information, cyber, and technology security. Your responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies to protect critical data. You will identify, develop, implement, and maintain processes across the enterprise to reduce information and IT risks.
As the Information Security Lead, you will support the organization in responding to specific incidents, resolving them, and ensuring that standards and controls are in place to prevent future incidents.
Since this is a dual-hatted role, it will be important to have duties and responsibilities that are independent, while the day-to-day work can be combined. The Data Manager part of the role will focus on business needs, most often limited to data metadata, while the Information Security Lead part will focus on the integrity, compliance, privacy, and security of data.
Job Responsibilities
As a Data Manager and Information Security Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy and governance. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing a company-wide data strategy that aligns with organizational goals, ensuring the establishment of meta and master data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity, privacy, and security.
You will identify and create a network of Data Stewards, acting as their dotted line manager to ensure they are trained and capable of performing their duties. Additionally, you will manage the master data management team for the commercial organization, continuously monitoring data models and their fitness for commercial and organizational use. Collaborating with the Enterprise Architect, you will align applications and their data usage for current and future needs.
Your role will also involve overseeing data quality management, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data across the organization. You will manage data operations, ensuring data is organized, secure, and retrievable for stakeholders, and drive business value through data analytics by transforming data into actionable insights.
Ensuring data compliance within business domains and authorities' requirements will be crucial, as will monitoring data storage and access in compliance with internal and external needs. You will align with industry best standards for risk management and potential fraudulent use of data, including cybersecurity.
Ethical data use is paramount, and you will ensure compliance with regulations specific to the medical device industry, including the adoption of Machine Learning, GenAI, and RPA. Collaboration and leadership are key, as you will work closely with IT, operations, legal, and business leaders to promote a data-driven culture. You will lead a team of data professionals, including analysts, engineers, and scientists, and ensure the community of master data stewards is informed and trained.
As the manager of Data Stewards, you will be responsible for implementing data governance checklists, monitoring data quality, maintaining data definitions, validating requests to modify or delete master data, and ensuring the amount of master data remains manageable.
