Job Title: Cream Cheese Lead
Immediate Supervisor: Production Manager – Cream Cheese
FLSA Status: Non-exempt.
Summary: Any Lead/Supervisor in Cream Cheese is a working position responsible for daily operations of the production of Cream Cheese. This includes the processes and equipment within such as Separator, 8 oz., 3lb., Winpak, HTST, and Acid Set from startup to tear down and CIPs. This is to include execution of autonomous maintenance activities. They are expected to actively support employees by covering breaks and time off typically within their normally scheduled shift. Leads/ Supervisors will be utilized for training new & current associates for their area, LOTO, and Safety while filling out proper paperwork for each. They will be expected to stay on the production floor throughout their shift with the exception of an hour at most office time to complete other tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Required to work without direct supervision, but must have the ability to communicate with both employees and managers.
- Write ups/ verbal warnings, employee schedule, update employee production handbook and monitoring progress
- Passdowns, assisting with audits
- Understand and follow; all Prairie Farms policies, procedures and protocols. Ensure safety, food safety, sanitation, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and manufacturing procedures are followed.
- Immediately notify management of all unsafe conditions or situations. Fill out incident report.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule), Pasteurization Documentations, inventory product and packaging, etc.
- Write and help to develop SOP’s & SSOP’s, and ensure all associates are following SOP’s & SSOP’s to ensure that all daily manufacturing tasks are completed in a safe, effective and timely manner, to provide the highest quality products and services to our internal and external customers.
- Lead execution of necessary tasks each day to ensure operation of the facility within compliance with all PF quality, safety, food safety, and process requirement programs.
- Operating Infinium,
- Ensures all equipment under his/her control is in a safe, clean & effective working condition.
- This includes autonomous maintenance activities such as inspections of silos, gasket changes, pump seal replacement, and other such activities as they are needed.
- Maintaining good housekeeping within your department
- Update, maintain, fill out production documentation and CIP’s - make corrections for input errors, program faults, and equipment breakdown. This includes accurate data entry where appropriate.
- Hour, HTST, End of Day inspection lists
- Work orders, Dockets, Charts, KPI’s
- Maintain an active role in the Safety Committee.

- Minimum high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) required.
- Previous whey processing experience is required, minimum 5 years of experience operating equipment such as found within the Luana plant.
- Knowledge of the mechanics of fluid systems, chemistry, physics and equipment required.
- Basic math skills to calculate production yields, and understanding weights and measures are required.
- Demonstrated and documented safe working habits coupled with good attendance is required.
- Shift work is required. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
- Proficiency in current position is required. (Whey Plant & Intake)
- Previous use of high volume, highly automated processing equipment preferred, including knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials and supplies
- Operating and troubleshooting a video jet printer, etc.
- Demonstrated effective organizational, time management & problem solving skills required.
- Must have a working knowledge of an electronic inventory management system.

- Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications (strong excel skills preferred).
