<p><strong>This Opportunity</strong></p><p>WSP is seeking an energetic and responsive <strong>Lead Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer</strong> for our multidisciplinary Process Infrastructure and Design team based in South Jordan, Utah. We encourage you to apply for this opportunity.</p><p>Location: Depending on candidate preference, this individual can work in our Tempe, AZ, South Jordan, UT or Houston, TX offices.</p><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul><li>Development a variety of I&C design documents such as: design drawings, technical specifications and design basis calculations with a high level of competence and minimal oversight.</li><li>Demonstrate clear and prompt communication and foster leadership</li><li>Work independently and collaborate in cross-discipline team to meet project goals. </li><li>Compliance with Codes and Standards, governing regulations, industry practices, and internal procedures.</li><li>Develop and perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and technical specifications.</li><li>Mentor junior team members in technical excellence and career growth.</li><li>Review of instrument and control systems vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers/designers.</li><li>Participate in the development and design review of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).</li><li>Prepare and review control deliverables such as Control Narratives, Cause and Effect diagrams, System Architecture Diagrams, Instrument Location Layouts, Installation Details, Wiring & Interconnection Diagrams, PLC Layouts, and Loop Drawings.</li><li>Prepare and review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, instrument index, instrument selection, hazardous area classification </li><li>Provide configuration of and develop programming for controls equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, DCS Systems, SCADA, etc.</li><li>Participate in client and project review meetings.</li><li>Prepare technical bid evaluation and attend FAT.</li><li>Collaboration with project management/engineering discipline to develop project budgets, schedule, prepare scoping documents, design criteria and list of project deliverables. </li><li>Promote engineering professionalism and maintain positive relationships internally and externally. </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.</li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.</li></ul><p>Who You Are</p><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from ABET accredited program; or associates degree and relevant industry experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree</li><li>7-10 years of relevant experience</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Instrumentation Engineering is essential.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of applicable design standards governing corresponding design work, such as API, NFPA, ISA, PIP, IEC, IEEE, ISO, NACE, NESC.</li><li>Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.</li><li>Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.</li><li>Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication and people management skills. </li><li>Proficient in SPI (Intools), AutoCAD, and other instrumentation design tools.</li><li>Strong understanding of control systems (PLC, DCS) and industrial networking protocols.</li><li>Demonstrate advanced ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.</li><li>A team player attitude and be able to work with multiple projects.</li><li>Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effec
