POSITION TITLE: Director of Product Management – Stores Technology 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

American Eagle Outfitters is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Product Management for Stores Technology to revolutionize the in-store experience. This leader will drive the strategy and execution of technology solutions that empower our store associates and delight our customers across our global fleet of American Eagle and Aerie locations. 

You must be a strong problem solver with a track record of product innovation. As the leader of this critical product portfolio, you will be a consummate coach and player - guiding and contributing to a team whose mission is to eliminate friction at the shelf and the register, ensuring our stores remain a competitive advantage in an omni-channel world. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define the multi-year product strategy for Store Technology, ensuring technology enhances, not hinders, the human connection between associates and customers
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of store-based products, balancing "run-the-business" stability with "change-the-business" innovation 
  • Prioritize initiatives that drive key store metrics: Conversion, UPT, and Associate Productivity 
  • Partner with Store Operations and Technology to ensure solutions are scalable 
  • Advocate for the store associate by developing mobile-first tools that simplify inventory management, floor tasks, and customer engagement 
  • Partner with Store Innovation team to implement and scale proven emerging technology 
  • Stay ahead of retail technology trends to influence the store of the future 
  • Apply modern product discovery techniques to the physical environment, utilizing pilot locations to test before global rollout
  • Mentor a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of innovation, curiosity, and problem solving

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 10 years in Product Management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on Store technology 
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of products that must function in a high-pressure, physical environment; Deep understanding of store technology 
  • Experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams without direct authority 
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of delivering measurable impact 
  • Excellent executive communication skills; comfortable presenting strategy, trade-offs, and results to senior leadership 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where technology and customer behavior are rapidly changing

Pay/Benefits Information:

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
