The Research Coordinator, Laboratory (Cell Culture Emphasis) is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US - Mendon, IL site.

 

Position Details

The Research Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and overseeing various aspects of laboratory research projects at the Phibro Innovation Center.  This position coordinates the planning and execution of the laboratory portion of research protocols, especially those related to cell culture techniques.  This role uses a variety of experimental procedures to process samples from scientific trials.  This role will collaborate with scientists, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians involved in various aspects of scientific research.

 

Key Responsibilities

Research trial planning and execution 

  • Coordinate all activities, including but not limited to resources, facilities, timelines and budgets, related to the preparation and execution of scientific protocols.

Data collection and management 

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory research activities, including protocols, regulatory documents and research data.
  • Oversee and design data collection tools, train personnel and ensure data quality and integrity.

Safety and compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials. 

Facility maintenance 

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of laboratory space and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of research facilities.

Equipment operation 

  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in animal research.

Education & Experience

  • Bacherlor’s degree in a relevant field (animal science, biology, veterinary, etc).
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory methods and implementing good laboratory practices.
  • Familiarity working in a biosafety level 2 laboratory.
  • Proficiency in data collection and reporting using relevant software/tools.
  • Experience in cell culture, such as growing and maintaining different cell lines for use in analysis, along with maintaining a cell culture facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory methods, such as sterile cell culture technique and gene and protein expression analysis, and implementing good laboratory practices
