Role Profile
Position: Production Technician
Job Location: West Valley, UT
Job Type: Full-Time
Status: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Role
This position is responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing or distribution based and may include welding and fabricating, assembling and manufacturing sales orders, picking products from the warehouse, shipping, and receiving.
Responsibilities
Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
Assembles and welds metal hoses
Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification
Interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine specific welding requirements
Assembles products to company, customer and manufacturer’s standards
Performs all product testing to quality standards as required by the customer and per company work instruction
Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse.
Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping
Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts (if applicable)
Assists with physical inventory
Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
Perform other duties as trained and qualified for
Skills and Abilities
Applicants should possess the ability to interact with team members in a professional manner
Must have good communication skills
Requires basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure
Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools
Basic computer skills preferred, including email and internet
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
1-3 years of related warehousing or production experience
A high school diploma or GED
Reliable transportation is a must
6 months of TIG welding experience
Must be able to pass TIG welding test within six weeks
Ability to safely drive a Company truck or other mechanical equipment
Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
Ability to work overtime, as required
Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)
Preferred Qualifications
Metal hose welding, assembly, and testing experience
Industrial setting experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active indus
