Location
This position will be based in Charlotte, NC (preference) or remotely.
Summary of Role
The Principal Product Manager will shape how hundreds of thousands of clean energy assets are connected, managed and optimized as Palmetto ushers in the clean energy revolution. They will drive the product vision, strategy, and execution for Palmetto’s emerging Asset Management Business Unit. This includes developing products, services, and solutions that enable Palmetto to onboard systems and devices from various sources, provide the ability to monitor, alert, and report on our broad portfolio of energy assets, ensure efficient and timely servicing, and drive value and satisfaction for our customers. Given the start-up nature of the Asset Management BU, this role will require an entrepreneurial mindset with a strong, relentless ability to influence across the organization to get things done. This role reports to the CTO with a strong dotted line relationship with the Asset Management GM.
Strategic & Tactical
- Partner closely with the GM, Asset Management, to drive the Asset Management BU forward by identifying, defining, and solving meaningful problems that impact:
- Develop the Asset Management product vision, strategy and supporting roadmap in line with the Asset Management BU strategy, LightReach Capital goals, and Palmetto’s broader company vision. Develop and be accountable for OKRs that tie your team’s work to measurable outcomes that ladder to key BU and company objectives
- Gain a deep understanding of Asset Management’s customer segments (e.g., financiers, end consumers, etc), their daily lives, needs, opportunities and value drivers through regular research, testing, and analysis. Constantly integrate learnings into your product strategies
- Deploy modern product management and development best practices. Partner closely with engineering, data, and design to create systems and team muscle memory that enable ample discovery, strong problem definition and opportunity mapping, rapid concept testing and validation, outcome-based and iterative delivery, and metricing and learning. Drive product management best practices across the broader product management team
- Forge strong bonds with key internal technology partners (Business Systems, Platform, Data, Devices, FinTech, Consumer, etc) to coordinate and enable solutions across multiple systems and segments. Work closely with external partners (e.g., manufacturers, service partners, etc.) to understand and support their needs
- Embrace and leverage the transformative power of AI to drive faster discovery and learning cycles, higher team productivity and output, and more efficient use of talent
- Take advantage of the opportunity to drive and define the products for a nascent business unit at Palmetto. Drive outcomes that prove the need for incremental investment and growth
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in product management, with a focus on field operations, services / O&M, asset management, warranties, and / or labor marketplace. Experience in the solar industry and / or in a high-growth startup or scaling a product portfolio is highly preferred
- Customer and market focus. Relentless desire to learn more about our customers - their daily lives, the problems they face, where value resides
- Proven ability to inspire and rally a team around a clear vision, strategy and roadmap; Strong leadership skills rooted in high EQ, curiosity and clear communic
