As a Senior Investment Operations Associate-Core Ops become a member of the Accounting Control Team (ACT), you will work independently on standardized/recurring assignments and under the direct supervision of more senior staff on complex projects, analyses, and tasks.  You will help support investment vehicles servicing the Institutional, Retail, and other functions supporting the Capital System investment approach.

  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.  Able to investigate cash, foreign exchange, and position management issues of low to moderate complexity, transactional in nature, and/or have been previously encountered, identify root causes, and strategize options and recommendations to resolve the issue.
  • Your experience with Aladdin or CRD systems, or investment book of record (IBOR) cash, foreign exchange, and position management is preferred.
  • You possess strong business acumen to understand and anticipate business needs/requirements and knowledge of investment products.
  • You possess strong industry knowledge (investment operations, order flow, short-term cash management, foreign exchange, various book, or record systems, etc.)
  • You have experience with cash and position management for fixed income products and derivative instruments.
  • You are self-driven (e.g., independently manage workload and achieve target outcomes)
  • You possess familiarity with investment management systems including transactional flows and impacts from a cash, position, and manager impact perspective – investment book of record, accounting book of record, and manager and results book of records.
  • You have strong collaboration skills – working within and across teams and stakeholder groups to assess and resolve low to moderate complex cash and position issues.
  • You can consume, digest, and apply information quickly.
  • You are self-driven (e.g., independently manage workload and achieve target outcomes)
  • You possess excellent organizational skills.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communications skills including with management with a focus on being able to bridge the gap between business and IT language and the ability to communicate ‘the why’ behind issues.
  • You can work in ambiguous situations, create clarity, and drive towards effective outcomes.
  • You possess strong computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Role Description

• Performs and/or monitors functions necessary to account for, report on and analyze investment vehicles accounted for by Core Operations and our outsource providers. Prepares information/entries and supporting documentation with increasing complexity to ensure accounting records and investment vehicle data are accurate prior to review and approval by more senior associates.

▪ Activities may include shareholder transactions, cash settlements, cash projections, post trade processing, foreign exchange funding requirements, collateral management oversight, loans and futures activities, corporate actions sourcing and event management, new and terminated accounts and funds, client account changes,

▪ May participate in department initiatives and projects.
▪ Analyzes various reports and determines appropriate action to resolve exceptions between internal and external (i.e., custodian bank) systems. Instructs internal and external sources to post or correct transactions via forms or online issue tracking tools.
▪ Performs self-review of work and peer review of some periodic/production work.
▪ Identifies and assesses business risk (i.e., applicability of regulatory requirements by investment type) and determines impacts within the company and to the clients; recommends solutions and collaborates with more senior associates on implementation.
▪ Demonstrates initiative by identifying and communicating issues to reviewers/managers/others.
▪ Researches and analyzes investment vehicle and client information to resolve issues; communicates findings with appropriate internal and external parties.
▪ Prepares analysis and reports in accordance with various accounting regulations or client-specific requirements and challenges the status quo to identify and implement best practices and process improvements.
• Models skills and technical knowledge and provides training to new associate so Provides technical training to new associates.
▪ Performs small group training to build the team’s foundation of knowledge.
▪ May act as a resource and provide guidance to newer associates.
