Accruent is seeking a Global Tax Manager that is a growth oriented, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong tax accounting and operational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines to join our Finance and Operations team. The successful candidate is driven to succeed individually and as a team in our day to day activities and special projects. While also paying close attention to detail, being proactive, meticulously organized and able to lead the team under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment.

You will report directly to the Accruent CFO and have a formal mentoring relationship with a Fortive tax leader who will act as your career advisor as you continue to develop your foundation of skills across tax rules, complex calculations, and robust project management. Fortive has a deep bench of subject matter experts to advise on specific tax issues. Additionally, you will work with the team to streamline existing processes, drive standard methodologies, and play an important role as Fortive continues to acquire new businesses during an exciting time of growth and transformation. An accounting analyst will report to this Global Tax Manager position

This position is open to location within the US with moderate travel to our headquarters in Austin, TX and other global locations.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Detail oriented. Dives-into-the-details. Analytical.
  • Coach and mentor staff to extract top performance and enable career development; provide informal training to staff and others in the organization.
  • Manage advisory teams preparing non-US income tax returns; ensuring timely compliance that aligns with expected tax positions.
  • Manage internal reporting required by Fortive for quarterly tax accounting and US federal/state income tax compliance; this will include both preparation and review as appropriate.
  • Manage internal and external resources to ensure timeline compliance of US indirect tax.
  • Ownership of operational transfer pricing to ensure transfer pricing policy is followed and income by legal entity is appropriate.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure high-quality forecasting by legal entity includes vital transfer pricing forecasts.
  • Partner with Fortive tax experts on innovative tax planning and execution such as tax-efficient structuring of international transactions, effective use of tax treaties, cash repatriations, and other tax planning strategies.
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting controls for tax related activities.
  • Assess and recommend process improvement areas to Senior Management. This includes learning the Fortive Business System to inspire change in the organization via participation in kaizen and other FBS events.
  • Coach and mentor staff to extract top performance and enable career development.

  • Assist with external audit and tax return preparation and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as needed.
  • Support internal teams by providing subject matter expertise and informal training to the team.

What you have to offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required; Master’s in Taxation and/or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience required; Big 4 experience and/or multinational corporate experience preferred.
