POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

The Financial Analyst - Global Inventory is responsible for the timely and accurate collection of financial information, reporting of cost related financial information and cost variance analysis at a corporate level. You will participate in global projects as required to support business decisions and profitability improvement. In this position you will assist the Senior Finance Manager in defining, deploying, and harmonizing manufacturing and cost accounting policies and practices across Advanced Energy’s diverse global footprint of factories and service centers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute month-end close, including preparing required journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end analysis of actuals vs forecast in a timely and accurate manner. Example of journal entries are capitalization of variances into inventory, demo/eval reserve, and freight accruals, at a corporate level.
  • Provide commentary for variances monthly
  • Assist in setting standard cost for new parts throughout the year
  • Ensure Cost of Sales (COS) is stated correct in SAP CO-PA (Profitably Analysis)
  • Support development, deployment and management of globally harmonized processes and policies, including but not limited to Inventory Accounting, Standard Costing, Capitalization of Variances into Inventory, Excess & Obsolete Inventory Accounting, Freight Accounting, etc.
  • Proactively identify trends and opportunities and makes recommendations to the factory finance teams to improve processes, drive efficiencies and/or enhance financial performance
  • Support financial modeling and preparation of financial plans for Operations & Supply Chain initiatives as part of quarterly forecast and annual operating plan (AOP) cycles
  • As a member of the global finance organization, monitor and work within the internal control environment and partners, as needed, with both internal and external audit teams
  • Work directly and effectively with all levels of the organization, across multiple continents and time zones
  • Act as a leader within the finance organization
  • Assist in next Generation ERP implementation

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Denver, CO
  • Hybrid - corporate headquarters, with remote opportunities
  • Some travel may be required    

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to utilize the full Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level of proficiency (MS Excel in particular)
  • Ability to perform clean, timely, accurate work in a fast paced, global environment
  • Eager to learn, execute effectively, then drive continuous improvement
  • Dedicated to work hard to help achieve company goals
  • Solid judgement with a wide degree of creativity and curiosity
  • Strong verbal & written English communication skills

  • Prior experience with an integrated ERP system, including Financial Planning and Consolidation (SAP preferred)

 

EXPERIENCE:                                              

Essential:

  • 3-6 years of progressive accounting/financial experience in a manufacturing environment
  •  

Desirable:

  • Previous financial management experience in a global high tech and/or manufacturing company
  • Previous experience in Cost/Manufacturing Accounting

 

EDUCATION:                                                                                    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
