Senior Accountant

What does a successful Senior Accountant do at Fiserv?

As a Sr. Accountant at Fiserv, you will participate in daily accounting operations, prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations to assist with monthly close activities, and record the accounting of complex technology-related expenditures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Fiserv policies. You will partner with Finance, IT, and various stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting, improve processes, and support audits and regulatory requirements.

What will you do:

  • Participate in the day-to-day accounting of large vendor contracts including collaborating with Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Sourcing, Procurement and Finance
  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations supporting month-end accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to determine accounting treatment for technology-related purchases and capitalized costs
  • Lead, train, and develop the Central Accounting India team for assigned general ledger accounts; review work and ensure consistency with policies and procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements, and Fiserv accounting policies

What you will need to have: 

  • 3+ years experience in Accounting supporting journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting processes
  • Experience with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a corporate accounting, financial reporting or related environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar financial systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

What would be great to have:

  • Experience with technology-related capitalization, accounting for software, FASB ASC 842 Leases
  • Master’s Degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or track

How you’ll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
