Job Responsibilities

  • Program, maintain, service and operate: FLOW Corp Water Jet System, Hypertherm/Messer Plasma Cutting System, and other material processing machines.
  • Ability to handle raw material, operate material handling equipment, and load CNC cutting equipment including Vacuum Lifting System & Magnets, Plate Clamps, Overhead Crane and Forklift
  • Operate, calibrate, and adjust mechanical aspects of waterjet/plasma and other equipment as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical portions of waterjet/plasma equipment, i.e., follow established machine maintenance schedules detailing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance checks and services to include Removing / Pumping Abrasive, Replacing Slats, Filling Abrasive Hopper, Monitor and Address Fluid Reservoirs, Lubrication Points, and Pneumatic Lines, Perform Corrosion Prevention and Control, Maintain Clean Hazard-free Work Area, Replace Torch Consumables and Coolant and Repair Torch Components and air/gas/water lines to CNC machines
  • Troubleshoot / detect mechanical malfunctions and perform basic equipment repairs by Replacing High-pressure Lines and Gauges
  • Diagnose and Replace Cutting Head Components, i.e., Mixing Tube, Nozzle, Orifice, etc.
  • Detect non-conforming / out-of-tolerance parts and determine appropriate mechanical adjustments within the equipment’s accepted operating parameters to produce quality parts.
  • Keep inventory of replacement parts required to operate and maintain waterjet/plasma cutting equipment, as well as submit replacement part requests.
  • Complete material related paperwork, document equipment runtime daily, and record equipment related notes
  • Ability to receive and understand specific instructions, and carry out those specific instructions to completion.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and written work instructions, as well as comprehend the design intent conveyed through those documents.
  • Properly store un-processed raw material as well as trim and correctly store partially processed material in designated areas.
  • Properly remove material remnants and dispose in designated areas and store equipment accessories, consumables, hand tools, measuring instruments, and completed parts in designated areas. ·
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Requirements

  • Two plus (2+) years’ operating and maintaining abrasive waterjet cutting equipment. Specifically, the processing of aluminum and steel wrought alloy plates of various thicknesses and material grades.
  • Experience operating CAD/CAM or other basic sketching / drawing programs.
  • Experience operating waterjet/plasma cutting software, i.e., editing cut files to manipulate lines, curves, and patterns, as well as, adjusting feed rates, cutting kerf, in-feed / outfeed types, task specific home coordinates to produce quality parts.
  • Knowledge and experience processing material of different material types and grades, i.e., carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum (6061 / 5052, etc.,).
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments i.e. calipers, indicators, and scales. · Knowledge of common electric / pneumatic power tools and their safe operation:o Cutting Toolso Angle Grinderso Cleaning Materials and Methods· Knowledge of common processing tools and material handling equipment related to material processing: Shear, Band Saw, Punch / Ironworker, Overhead Cranes, Forklifts / Pallet Jacks·
  • Knowledge of various fabrication tools, types, and methods for use and preventative maintenance / repair desirable, but not required: CNC mill, manual mill, manual lathe, press break, and sunrise / ironworker.
  • Ability to communicate in English required (written & verbal) skills.
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.

Certification(s): Documented training certification(s) for operating and maintaining high pressure abrasive waterjet cutting equipment; certification(s) do not need to be FLOW waterjet specific, but documented experience and knowledge must be applicable to FLOW waterjet equipment.
