Position Description:
ACLH is a leading behavioral health service provided located in Erie, Crawford, and Warren/Forest Counties. We take great pride in providing professional and superior services to all consumers and families in a supportive, compassionate, and friendly manner. In this position, you will play an instrumental role in aiding medical staff and patients. Your main responsibilities will be assisting psychiatrists and CRNP’s by collecting patient information, taking vitals, scheduling services appointments, and providing outstanding care in our Erie office.
Responsibilities:
- Collect patient information/history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
- Assist psychiatrists and CRNPs with various tasks.
- Answer calls and provide information for patients or their families.
- Assist with direct patient care procedures.
- Obtain lab reports or other referral information.
- Work as a part of an interdependent team; bringing a positive and helpful attitude to problem solving and multi-tasking.
- Travel to schools in the community to perform administrative and clinical tasks.
- Schedule, cancel and confirm client appointments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records.
- Contact families that no-show regarding reason for no-show and confirm continuation of therapy.
- Receive and process all scheduling information via phone, fax and/or e-mail in a timely manner paying special attention to HIPAA privacy standards.
- Maintain strong customer service focus in all interactions with internal and external contacts.
- Perform additional outreach duties to fill clinicians’ schedules by maintaining client caseloads for each clinician to quickly back fill open slots.
- Manage a back-fill list to assume clerical responsibilities, including answering the phone, sending letters to families, scanning, and uploading records to client charts, registering incoming clients and processing payments as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have (1) one year of experience in a professional office setting.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication, along with superior organizational skills, ability to multitask and remain focused despite frequent interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR).
- Client scheduling within an EMR system.
- Experience in a pediatric, psychiatric or medical clinic preferred.
