How you'll contribute

A Med Surg RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.

• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.

• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.

• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.

• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.

• Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of h
