Responsibilities: 

The Avionics Systems Integration Team needs a Systems Integrator to support the integration of hardware and software into the Space Launch System (SLS) and Human Lander Systems (HLS) vehicle imagery avionics.  This function is used by engineering to monitor the performance and health and status of the vehicle, Crew, and cargo throughout the SLS and HLS missions.  These missions includes all phases of vehicle preparation (development, integration, and test), launch operations, ascent, lunar insertion, Lunar operations and Crew and vehicle return to earth.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with the customer’s Imagery discipline, Level II EDLEs and the Integrated Avionics and Software Lead Engineer assisting with the development and deployment of SLS and HLS Imagery hardware and software. 
  • Be responsible for insight into the technical operations of multiple imagery sub-systems and as such, must maintain a working technical knowledge of each sub-system and how each will integrate into the overall operation of the vehicle to ensure meeting safety and performance parameters. 
  • Provide development, integration, and testing insight into the SLS and HLS Level III Imagery discipline avionics suppliers for multiple imagery devices.  
  • Assist in program coordination within the Space Systems Department.
    • Duties may include, but not be limited to coordinating scheduling, coordinating meetings, tracking action items, assisting in planning activities, supporting trade studies, performing systems analyses, supporting integrated avionics hardware/software design solutions and test, making technical risk management inputs, coordinating technical performance measures, supporting reviews, working groups and boards, and providing periodic status inputs to project and ES Department management.
  • Support the SLS and HLS Level II Imagery Disciplines in mentoring, program cost and schedule projections, and availability and application of advanced technologies, concept and requirements definitions, and systems engineering as they apply to the imagery discipline.
