Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Monday through Friday 1500 till 2300, some weekends

Pay Range

$16.80 - $25.20

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs regular patrols of buildings and grounds. Perform scheduled duties, monitor emergency alarm systems and respond to emergencies. Notify 911 and/ or families of residents if required.

• Performs investigations concerning security loss and security incidents.

• Assists with and/or performs scheduled fire drills in healthcare.

• Assists in testing fire alarms, and other systems and participates in fire alarm and other responses needed

• Manages daily schedules for security activities.

• Assists residents and concierge by delivering packages, changing tires, jump starting autos and relieving at the front desk.

• Assist with traffic control for special functions.

• Job Criteria- Position Specific Key Procedures/Equipment/Processes

• Maintains key control for staff (e.g. issuing daily keys, tallying key drops), cutting keys for residents and employee upon receiving authorized key request.

• Performs speed control for vehicles traveling on facility property with assistance of a radar gun.

• Performs staff education through Hazardous Surveillance with staff.

• Performs daily inspections of vacant units for outside breach.

• Ensures communications equipment is in proper working order for emergency responses and performs test of equipment (e.g. radio, cell phones, pagers, AED, life line phone, pendants, and pull-cords).

• Follows red-locking procedures and resident access procedures.

• Issues parking decals to residents, employees and personal service providers

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• Current Georgia Drivers License and eligible for and must remain eligible for Carlyle Place insurance coverage

Education Required:

• Minimum education of High School Diploma or GED required.

     

Experience Required:

• 1 years experience as a private Security Officer/Security Guard or experience in a related field (i.e. Military Services, or Law Enforcement) preferred

  

     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Must be able to think analytically and work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to make quick decisions to take corrective action without compromising the functional integrity of the situation. Must have a strong understanding and demonstration of knowledge, skills and abilities as related to safety and security issues. Must be familiar with uses of Micro-soft products (word, excel and access) and computer software applications used by the organization.   

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must be able to use visual near and distance acuity.  Must have verbal ability to communicate in person and over the phone or radio.  Must be able to assist co-workers in transfers and transport supplies, patients/residents, or equipment using good body mechanics.  Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 60-80 pounds, specific to the job class evaluation.  Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and change from one position to the other rapidly. Must be able to lift 25-60 lbs. and carry 25-50 pounds specific to job class evaluation.  Must be able to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres and noxious odors. Must be able to work in noisy environments and be self directed to complete jobs as ordered. Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Must be able to assist co-workers in multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously.  Must be able to prioritize job tasks and organize work space to be efficient and conducive to completing work tasks as assigned in a timely manner.  If job class is identified as falling under POPE C, the individual must pass the cardiac recovery test.
