Red Cell is looking to hire an experienced accountant.  The accountant will provide management with financial information by analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements. The incumbent will maintain records of financial transactions, prepare monthly accounting reports, and produce statistical reports.

You will report to the Red Cell’s Controller. Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metro area and work out of our Tysons Corner office at least 3 days/week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system.
  • In charge of the accounts payable for multiple entities. 
  • Reconcile bank accounts for multiple entities. 
  • Prepare journal and general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Help maintain appropriate financial records for vendor accounts and contractors. 
  • Assist in the preparation of annual 1099's. 
  • Generate, organize and compile information and support documents to complete tax filings and annual audit.
  • Work cross functionally with members of the Accounting, Finance and Operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience.
  • Solid experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Vendor and general ledger reconciliations experience.
  • Experience doing monthly soft closes and quarterly hard closes.
  • Strict attention to details, highly organized, wants to "roll up sleeves", and work efficiently. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to learn and process new concepts quickly.  
  • Ability to work independently and assume responsibility. 
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and to manage upward communication across multiple stakeholders.
