Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Support and mentor junior engineers as a technical leader through training, reviews and collaboration.
  2. Work directly with customers and suppliers to develop and manage designs, requirements, specifications, etc.
  3. Participate in Agile Scrum teams through sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, sprint reviews and daily standups.
  4. Quoting new programs through estimation of hours, costs for tools and licenses by engaging with our internal team and our supply base.
  5. Support engineering in new product development and managing lessons learned.
  6. Write C Code to meet functional and technical specifications.
  7. Perform peer reviews on all artifacts during the lifecycle of a project.
  8. Code compliance to MISRA-C, CERTC and ADAC coding guidelines.
  9. Create and maintain software architecture and detail designs.
  10. Support Test Lab functional test requirements.
  11. Support manufacturing regarding inline product testing methods, specifications and equipment selection.
  12. Investigate alternative suppliers of electronic content for non-directed-buy suppliers for future products.
  13. Evaluate, assess and troubleshoot electronics content contained in core product base.

  1. Attend job-required training
  2. ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management
  3. EE department and SW Group development
  4. Purchasing/budgeting electronic parts and test equipment
  5. Support VA/VE efforts

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor of Computer or Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Science or related field
  2. Software Project Leadership is preferred
  3. Software design experience is preferred
  4. 7+ years of automotive experience is preferred
  5. Prior experience with ASPICE & Autosar
  6. Ability to launch and lead software development without supervision
  7. Ability to work with Global Teams

  2. MS Office
  3. Ability to root cause issues utilizing 8D, Kepnor-Tregoe and Fishbones
  4. Ability to contribute to peer design reviews
