Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule:  Days; 8am - 5pm | Monday-Friday

SUMMARY

Manages hospital and department issues as directed by the Administrator, Cancer Services and the Chief, Radiation Oncology. Coordinates, facilitates and monitors the daily activities of the Radiation Oncology department in accordance with departmental and institutional policy. Participates in maintaining a level of patient satisfaction that is acceptable to standards set by the hospital. Coordinates the quality improvement activities of the department. Assists in the marketing initiatives of the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision and Staff Management. Directly supervises Senior Radiation Therapists and clerical staff, working with the Director of Medical Physics and Sr. Nurse Manager to ensure efficient departmental operations. Leads staff selection and evaluation, reallocates staff to optimize patient flow, and assumes a Radiation Therapist role when needed.

  • Communication and Operational Efficiency. Ensures smooth communication across departments (Physicians, Physics, Nursing, Therapists, and Secretaries) to maintain operational efficiency. Assesses daily operational needs and implements strategies to meet customer expectations and improve departmental performance.

  • Quality Improvement and Educational Initiatives. Participates in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and monitors their progress. Oversees the creation of an in-service educational program, regularly evaluates its effectiveness, and supports marketing efforts to increase market share.

REQUIRED QUALIFICTIONS:

  • Graduate of approved school of Radiation Therapy

  • 5 years experience as a Radiation Therapist and 5 years experience in a management position

  • NYS Licensure as Radiation Therapist

  • AART registration preferred

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED), RTC - Radiologic Technologist certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

$90,000.00 - $135,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
