We're looking for a Parts Counter Representative to join our Gary dealership team.  This person will be responsible for assisting customers with identifying, locating, and purchasing truck parts and accessories. The ideal candidate has experience in parts sales (preferably in a truck or heavy-duty environment), strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.  

We're hiring for the following shifts:
  • Monday-Friday: 10:30a-7p or 1:30p-10p
  • Tuesday-Saturday: Tu-Fr 9:30a-6p, Sat 7:30a-4p

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Assist walk-in customers, service technicians, and phone inquiries with parts identification and sales
  • Look up parts using electronic catalogs and inventory management systems
  • Process customer orders, returns, and warranty claims accurately
  • Maintain knowledge of OEM and aftermarket parts, including heavy-duty truck systems
  • Track special orders and notify customers or technicians when parts arrive
  • Restock shelves as needed to maintain a clean, organized parts department
  • Generate invoices and receive payments, as needed
  • Stay up-to-date on new product lines, recalls, and manufacturer bulletins through supplied training platforms
  • All other duties as assigned
Education and/or Required Experience:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in parts sales, preferably in a truck, automotive, or heavy equipment dealership
  • Familiarity with truck brands (e.g., Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, etc.) and associated parts a plus
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify parts and components
  • Proficiency with computer systems and parts lookup software (e.g., CDK, Procede, or similar)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
