EdisonTM Developer (EDev) is a strategic product that is aimed at accelerating journey of building healthtech applications for internal and external developers (software developers, data scientist, researchers and partners) for the vision to improve patient care. It provides one-stop place for developers to access capabilities and tools within entire Edison Ecosystem, in the form of APIs, SDKs, virtual operational environments, to rapidly co-create compliant healthtech solution across cloud, HealthLink, enterprise systems and device. This enables GE Healthcare to increase consumption of Edison capabilities through 3rd party Ecosystem partners to generate revenue. Within GE Healthcare, Edison Developer acts as a catalyst for digital transformation that removes duplication of efforts, streamlines operations within the company, provides differentiation relevant to the market and presents products from all teams within as one Edison team.

Role purpose / summary

Responsible for designing and programming a module and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge/experience
• 5+ years of experience as a software developer
• Experience with Python programming language is required for backend engineers
• Experience with TypeScript is required for frontend engineers
• Strong experience in Java Spring/Python based microservices or Angular2+ based frontend development
• Strong Experience with SQL
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Know how to use git version control
• Intermediate+ verbal and written communication skills in English

Desired characteristics

• Experience in using Cloud Services (AWS prefered)
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, DICOM
• Experience in serverless architecture
• Experience with high level test automation(system integration, end-to-end)
