Summary

Perdue Farms is looking to add a FSQA Analyst to our Carolinas team! The Food Safety/Quality Systems Analyst will conduct in depth auditing at assigned locations throughout the year to identify errors and or deficiencies within the many systems designed to ensure alignment and compliance of various best practices, regulatory and or customer standards. This role will partner with sites to ensure all locations are audit ready 365 days. The FSQA Analyst will also provide executive level reporting on FSQA system (BRC, HACCP, GF, other) health across assigned locations to maximize adherence to minimize risk to the business via recalls, withdrawals, customer and or consumer abandonment as well as partner with business colleagues (Operations, Logistics, Procurement, R&D) to communicate where improvements and execution of relevant preventive controls regarding FSQA programs are required. Interact clearly and effectively with cross functional business partners to establish targets aimed at resolving deficiencies within FSQA systems identified via auditing.

 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a traveling technical expert for data, analytics, and data visualization across all Quality Systems at assigned locations (North and South Carolina).
  • Implement auditing systems and measures that accurately depict risks and or lack of process across all Food Safety, & Quality processes within all plant and DC (WPL) locations.
  • Verify that Corporate FSQA policies are being accurately adhered to in all assigned locations.
  • Provide correlative analysis between In Plant, Consumer and Customer feedback.
  • Oversee the training program for assigned locations – leverage our existing system- Alchemy.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships across all locations; Operations, Quality, Sales, Marketing to enable responsive partnerships.
  • Verify the cascading of all Corporate FSQA policies across all assigned locations are accurately being adhered to. 
  • Performs and oversees analysis and recommends appropriate analytic, statistic, and data visualization methods, resources, and tools.
  • Promote analytic usage and skills among management and employees through training and mentoring, of appropriate analytics tools.
  • Work with Business teams to development analytic metrics that establish a consistent, coherent approach to data throughout the organization.

 

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or an Agribusiness related major.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in food manufacturing with a strong operating knowledge of food safety and quality systems with progressive management or leadership roles.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing requirements around verification programs; NAE, NGMO, Gluten Free, BRC, SQF, HACCP, GFSI standards; certified in HACCP/BRC/SQF.
  • Substantial experience writing both technical and executive level summary audit reports – able to clearly communicate results and areas of continuing focus.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of both HACCP and GFSI programs/audit schemes.
  • Strong communicative skills – able to effectively interpret and articulate challenges within Food Safety and Quality based off audit results.
  • Experience establishing primary and secondary KPI’s that keep the organization aligned with meaningful data.
  • Ability to translate multiple points of data from various systems and sources into meaningful information that benefit the company.
  • Excellent executive presentation and communication skills with the ability to inspire and inform.
  • Demonstrated experience and excellence in coaching, collaborating, and influencing.

Experience Preferred

  • 2+ years’ experience leading six sigma-based projects within a manufacturing environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
