Technical Vetting Analyst

Newmark is seeking a Technical Analyst to support the development of an internal product within the Data organization. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing a system that streamlines data validation, review, and approval workflows. Reporting to the Senior Data Manager, the analyst will spend an initial training period building a deep understanding of the commercial real estate industry, Newmark’s proprietary data, and team-specific processes. Following this ramp-up, the analyst will transition into a more technical capacity, leading the design and build of the internal product, including backend structure and user interface features. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to translate business needs into functional technology solutions.

• Spend an initial 2-month ramp period learning the commercial real estate industry, internal vetting workflows, and data team needs through direct observation, shadowing, and analysis.
• Gather and document user requirements from the vetting and data teams to inform the design of internal tools and workflows.
• Analyze current processes, data collection practices, and operational inefficiencies; recommend opportunities for automation and systemization.
• Assist in the development of user stories, wireframes, and prototypes for a backend user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) platform that supports the team’s vetting workflows.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for an admin portal that supports the vetting team’s data review, approval, and workflow processes.
• Analyze current manual and semi-automated processes; identify opportunities to streamline, digitize, and centralize through the admin portal.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, wireframes, and functional specifications for development.
• Lead the design and build of the admin portal, including both backend architecture and UI/UX features, in collaboration with data engineering and product management teams.
• Create testing plans, manage feedback cycles, and implement updates to ensure the portal meets operational needs.
• Support the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and scaling of the portal post-launch.
• Participate in the design, modification, and/or maintenance of data management processes, policies, and procedures. Redesign when appropriate for maximum efficiency and scalability.
• Create ad hoc analysis and reporting to evaluate tool performance, adoption, and business impact.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Other Job Functions

• Interface with cross-functional teams including data engineering, brokerage operations, and research staff as needed.
• Assist with the compilation, recording, and analysis of organization-level data and workflow statistics.
• Contribute to documentation, training, and support materials for the vetting platform.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field required.
• 2-4 years of experience in technical analysis, business analysis, or product/UX-focused roles; experience within a data-driven or real estate organization preferred.
• Familiarity with front-end development concepts (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Databricks frameworks) and backend systems design; experience with prototyping and wireframing tools a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to interface between technical and business stakeholders.
• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
