Cost Analyst/Senior Analyst - Houston  

 

LOCATION: Blytheville - Arkansas  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: PLANNING 

 

Purpose: 

•             Responsible for variable cost analysis and reporting.

•             Prepare and review reports to support the development, implementation and monitoring of variable cost budgets. Audiences for these reports includes Top Management; Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Corporate Planning; among others.

 

Responsibilities:

•             Prepare the variable cost budget and standard change reports by defining, in coordination with the relevant areas in the Company, the rates for the different variable cost components. Which involve the following activities: Analysis and allocation of personnel to production lines; Discussion of efficiency of production lines; Analysis of cost trends for consumables and services 

•             Presentation to top management of cost results of the Plants

•             Prepare and issue cost control (efficiency / price variance) reports which allow the Plants to identify cost variances (by Cost Component / Process / Line to departmental managers) and to trigger actions to keep costs under control.

•             Prepare and present to management ad-hoc cost analysis to identify causes of cost deviations.

•             Ensures, in coordination with cost accounting, accurate cost accounting postings and inventory valuation.

•             Analyze external / internal trends of data that influence standard cost and efficiency variances.

•             Identify and champion cost reduction opportunities.

•             Optimize current cost management processes and support the implementation initiatives to increase productivity and development of reports to provide better visibility of cost control to Plant Managers.

•             Assure the reporting is in compliance with the internal procedures of the company.

 

Other Skills:

•             Advanced use of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel - pivot tables, lookup and reference functions, macros; Microsoft Access) and Power BI

•             Demonstrated ability to download and integrate data from various sources and combine them into other datasets using excel pivots, formulas, and functions.

•             Ability to interact and make presentations to different levels of the Organization.

•             Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•             Detail oriented, well organized.

•             Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with limited supervision.

•             SAP Knowledge

•             Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

•             Ability to demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential and highly sensitive financial or other information.

•             Knowledge in production manufacturing cost, budgeting, and reporting
