Software Development Specialist

This data-driven position will collaborate with multiple departments to facilitate the development and implementation of business analytics dashboards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify data quality and assist in managing data
• Create visualizations using a data analytics platform
• Interact with databases and software systems
• Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
• Document processes and project requirements
• Follow company software data protection and security guidelines in developing software
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Degree in Computer Science and Programming.

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Development Team and other plant and office personnel with attention to detail and accuracy. 

Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge Microsoft Office.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to understand and apply simple mathematical concepts. Experience with scripting and/or using formulas to generate measures from data.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet applications, PowerPoint. Must be familiar with internet research and the use of e-mail. Including Microsoft office, internet, Lotus Notes. 

Proficiency with SQL and Excel.

Experience with data analytics platforms such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, or similar is preferred.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and use critical thinking skills when developing data solutions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
