The Pharmacy Product Manager is responsible for sales and licensing of ASHP products and services (including new sales, renewals, and business development). This position oversees product management of select ASHP products from launch through the sales cycle. Responsibilities include acting as a brand ambassador and primary contact of ASHP products, services, and licensing opportunities in the US and international market, managing the full sales cycle and client relationships, and utilizing market research and user insights to facilitate launch of new products/services or improvement of existing. Responsible for developing and recommending business and pricing models relevant to customer segments and sales channels; working internally across ASHP departments with intelligence tasks including budgeting, reporting, and forecasting. Note: this is not an IT Project Management position!
This position will be based onsite in our Bethesda, MD office, and the employee in this role will be working in a hybrid environment, consistent with Association-wide ASHP policies applicable to HQ-based employees. At ASHP, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. The base salary for this position is $80,000-$95,000 and ASHP offers a comprehensive benefits plan. What You'll Be Doing
- Works with Business Development leadership to set sales strategy for assigned products, services, and licensing of ASHP content.
- Responds to customer inquiries for assigned products/services/licensing, providing a high level of customer service related management of sales opportunities from inception through completion and customer implementation.
- Establishes and maintains systematic communication with existing customer accounts. Monitors and acts to address customer satisfaction.
- Educates customers about new products and features, and content updates of current products.
- Conducts webinars and other demonstrations as appropriate to assist in lead generation and training.
- Identifies and systematically pursues new opportunities for sales/licensing of ASHP products and resources.
- Documents and maintains all account information in Salesforce database and establishes reporting to monitor sales pipeline.
- Works with Business Development leadership, ASHP attorneys, Professional Education and Publishing, and Finance departments to review contracts and contract renewals.
- Works with Business Development leadership to set sales targets and determine strategic communication initiatives targeting prospective and existing customers.
- Identifies and analyzes new product development and enhancement opportunities for assigned products and services, and other related resource areas.
- Maintains SWOT analysis of products and services, including monitoring current and emerging competitors to devise strategies to develop and maintain a comparative advantage. Shares market intelligence with appropriate individuals within ASHP.
- Determines customer needs through ongoing assessment of customer feedback and market trends.
- Works across all business units (and third parties) to update and maintain sales related documentation (including customer-facing product document) and website content.
- Works with marketing department for promotion of products and services; including online product placement, writing, and providing product information and more.
- Manages business and pricing model, pricing calculators, contract templates, and any other sales related documentation.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
What You Bring to ASHP
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience (preferably in scientific/medical field or associations/professional societies).
- Minimum of five years sales experience. Experience in medical/pharmaceutical market.
- Experience in client relationship management.
- Demonstrated success selling clinical products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff to ensure ongoing productive relationships.
