What’s the role?
As the Multi-site Facility, Employee Health Safety, & Radiation Safety Manager, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancements by leading facility improvements, maintenance tasks, asset management, Health & Safety, and Environmental programs at assigned facilities to ensure operational effectiveness for building occupants to work in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.

Here’s what you’ll do:
Safety and Security:
- Ensure building and employee safety and security at all times.
- Lead Emergency Response Team (ERT) and emergency readiness plans.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet database.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations in operations.
Facility Improvement and Maintenance:
- Develop and implement an effective Employee Health and Safety program, fire alarm, security system, and sustainability program.
- Create a facility improvement and maintenance plan and ensure related actions are successfully completed.
- Develop Request for Proposals (RFP) for improvement and maintenance programs.
- Lead facility-related suppliers and contractors in successfully completing the scope of work.
- Develop and implement a facility recycling and hazardous waste program to align with global sustainability requirements.
Leadership and Culture:
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and professional development for the reporting team.
- Communicate the ZEISS agenda and IQS strategy, define corresponding measures and targets, and monitor implementation.
- Work with internal groups and departments to develop and change processes for streamlined workflow, interaction, and communication.
- Empower and motivate employees via feedback, improvement initiatives, and recognition.
Site Management:
- Perform and log all facility GEMBA Safety Inspections.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements for facilities and contractors.
- Lead all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements for facilities and contractors.
- Drive facility improvements, maintenance, and cost reductions.
- Develop and maintain a contractor/vendor/supplier contact list.
- Process all contractor/supplier invoices relative to assigned facilities.
- Support ISO 14001 and sustainability programs.
Key Metrics:
- Ensure completion of facility requests.
- Minimize downtime of critical facility equipment.
- Assure projects are completed on time and on budget.
Do you qualify?
Requires an Associates Degree or a minimum of 5-8 years related experience as a facility manager.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Detail and team-oriented.
Ability to work under pressure and handle time constraints while multitasking.
Willingness to take initiative, prioritize assignments, and work through interruptions with minimal supervision.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Superior administrative and proofreading skills.
Works independently and within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing department projects.
Ability to make decisions and handle difficult and confidential issues.
Proactive in resolving problems.
Discretion and confidentiality.
Experience with MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
