Job Description

The Senior Manager, Content Strategy and Social Curation is part of the Global Content Strategy, Development & Distribution team, reporting into the Senior Director of Content Strategy. This individual will be part of a global team responsible for developing and scaling best-in-class social content on behalf of Visa’s marketing positioning and voice.

 

This individual will drive the curation, editorial planning, and optimization of Visa’s content across global social media platforms. This person should have a passion and experience in:

  • Weaving together multiple content themes and community focuses on priority platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X and LinkedIn.

  • Proactively planning, managing and optimizing complex social editorial calendars, inclusive of high-profile tentpole activations, creator collaborations and always-on/evergreen content.

  • Identifying communities, conversations and cultural moments (via social listening and analysis) at the intersection of on-trend and on-brand.

  • Distilling platform-level best practices and algorithm shifts into strategic recommendations.

  • Driving the development of copy and creative in response to real-time trends and reactive opportunities.

  • Collaborating to ideate social-first activations and strategic extensions for high-profile brand moments, including premier events throughout Sports, Music and Travel.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Use social data and platform expertise to curate, schedule and post Visa content across key platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X and LinkedIn.

  • Provide strong guidance on platform and content best practices by staying immersed in emerging trends, best-in-class brand activations and algorithms.

  • Partner with Content Strategy to translate social data into creative and conceptual insights that can fuel always-on content and social-first activations.

  • Partner with the Community Management team to identify and drive real-time engagement opportunities that build relevance and preference.

  • Lead internal and external brainstorms based on social insights for tentpole activations and always-on content. Recommend outputs for consideration, planning and resourcing.

  • Mine, track and identify trends from the Visa community that can inform future strategies, franchises and campaigns.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
•9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Deep experience with social media platforms, as demonstrated through an understanding of the unique languages, algorithms and advertising model of each major platform.
• Ability to ideate, influence and implement new content/creative strategies and formats across multiple social platforms and content types (tentpole, always-on, reactive).
• Experience leading social-first brainstorms with internal and external teams.
• Extremely organized with keen attention to detail.
• Experience collaborating across complex global teams.
• Bias for action, not bureaucracy, with an ability to act quickly while rallying cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to drive results with a high degree of personal initiative and subject matter expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited resources.
• Content strategy, financial services or payments industry experience preferred.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.<
