Cabana Group Moderator (DEI Experience, Contract)

We are building a diverse group of professionals experienced in managing group support conversations to become a part of our Cabana Cohort of experienced moderators. This is a great opportunity for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practitioner who is interested in a part-time opportunity to have wide reaching impact. You choose which blocks of time you are available to run our live groups, and we will promote the groups to the full network of peer professionals.
Our virtual live groups are not therapy; we provide psychoeducational sessions, and social support moderated in a thoughtful way by connecting peer professionals with others facing difficult transitions and challenges in their daily lives. We are looking for qualified DEI professionals individuals with coaching, wellness, and/or stress management training who have experience moderating groups. Our ideal candidate will be able to lead DEI focused groups but would also lead a wide variety of other leadership, well-being, and or life growth empowering groups.
Responsibilities include:
- Arriving on time for your scheduled virtual live groups
- Facilitating the group discussion for topics you are assigned to with supporting materials (sessions range from 20 to 60 minutes).
- Moderating a wide variety of groups as need presents
- Providing product and topic feedback
- Escalating issues when necessary
- Responding via email in a timely manner when requests or questions from the Cabana Team arise
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience moderating groups
- Flexible work schedule
- Access to computer and stable internet connection
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and ability to maintain accountability with minimal oversight
You’ll need to have:
- Laptop or computer with a web-camera and microphone
- Strong and reliable internet bandwidth to support video conferencing
- Professional and private space to run group discussions without distraction
- Positive attitude
The preferred candidate will be passionate about improving access to mental health support. All work will be done remotely (email, Microsoft Teams, Cabana platform).
