- Manage all ambulance operations, including but not limited to design and development of Mobile Intensive Care Units in partnership with ambulance vendors, oversight of readiness and implementation of new ambulances, maintenance of vehicles, supply coordination in all aspects of the vehicle.
- Primary contact for transport team licenses and registrations including but not limited to MO and IL EMS licenses, DEA, BNDD, CLIA.
- Primary contact in helicopter vendor relationship. This responsibility entails coordinating day to day pilot and mechanic activities, oversight of all HEMS quality metrics, distribution of financial outcomes from relationship, and support of contractual negotiations and obligations.
- Work in partnership w clinical manager to ensure safe operations and clinical effectiveness, through effective communication, facilitation of departmental meetings, huddles and general information dissemination.
Job Summary:
Develops, implements and maintains a cost-effective system of operations for all areas within department including trauma services and EMS outreach/education. Plans and conducts work and reports the progress of work to leadership. Manages the day to day business operation of emergency services. Plans, coordinates and manages material and capital resources. Ensures administrative processes support the delivery of emergency services. Responds to critical issues relating to the delivery of services.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support and guidance on emergency services/trauma/EMS outreach team administrative issues to ensure cost-effective service delivery by all department teams. Maintains current organizational records. Develops and monitors key performance indicators.
- Manages the administrative components of the department, taking into account service performance targets (e.g.: cost-effectiveness, optimal staff scheduling to match demand, team utilization, building and systems functionality, information system sustainability/reliability). Constructs and maintains systems for documenting and distributing administrative standard operating procedures.
- Coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of a service business plan consistent with the identified needs of the department. Collaborates with like services to maximize efficiencies.
- Manages reports relating to administrative functions. Coordinates external reviews of department performance improvement measures. Coordinates and participates in service redesign processes within the department. Researches inventory management improvement process.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives to resolve cross service/facility issues. Prepares reports. Maintains effective lines of communication within the department and with related services on professional, clinical and operational issues. Ensures staff are aware of administrative policies and procedures by circulating appropriate information and updates as necessary.
- Facilitates and encourages staff to pursue both personal and professional development. Attends and participates in seminars, in-service education, continuing education and conferences, as appropriate. Promotes professional development opportunities and co-operative research projects with a view to adapting research findings to improve quality of care and improve customer service.
