Senior Chemist

Summary of Duties

• Responsible for evaluating, selecting, and applying standard scientific techniques, processes, and criteria in the development, adaptation, and modification of new and existing products and technologies for Aerospace and Defense markets.
• Responsible to follow the project management processes in several projects running at the same time, work in the cross-functional environment as RD&I representative, effectively interact with colleagues in the US, Europe, South America, and Asia as well as assist Sales and Marketing in commercialization efforts for newly developed products.
• Conduct and supervise research in the development of new products and reformulations of existing products using innovative ideas and nano materials.
• Conduct lab testing and responsible for ensuring scientific vigor in all phases of new product development and update of existing products.
• Provide technical assistance and support to production, sales and marketing departments, as required in support of product scale-up, quality control, application testing, and other cross functional activities.
• Responsible for maintaining detailed technical records, as required, in the form of a laboratory notebook or computer database. Provide process reports, monthly and quarterly reports, technical plans, project summaries, and other internal correspondence in a timely manner to ensure appropriate communication of project status and needs.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field of study and 2 years of experience in any occupation where relevant experience is acquired.
• 2 years of experience in research and development in coating film developments. All stated experience must include various coating film fabrications and application in the automotive industry. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.
• 10% domestic travel required.
